Rain falls from the sky.
I see the homeless leave the city bus stop benches because their clothes will have begin to get soaked. They'll have to walk, sometimes barefoot, in order to seek dry shelter. Cold, hungry, wet, and struggling to survive in this oppressive country. Folks walk past the less privileged without a care in the world. Not to speak for all, but most people don't give a shit behind the story or the struggle these houseless people have. Rarely do you ever see compassion and care go out to these folks on the street. Wake UP! The world is changing, fast! Solidarity is needed in our communities to survive the harsh times ahead of us. Actions speak louder than words, and I wish people's actions showed more compassion. You have an extra pair of shoes you know you don't need/use. Take it out with you next time you hit the streets. You may come across someone who needs them more than you do. One act of care can turn into abundant more. Today's rain was a little different. It has made me more aware of the different struggles folks face on this Earth. Struggles that, in one way or another, bring us together. - Luz Mireles |
